MARVINE BESONG Managing Director & CTO Marvine is a leading expert in plastic chemical recycling with almost a decade in process design, basic and detailed engineering, plant construction and commissioning, plant operation, troubleshooting, and optimisation. He led the development and commercialization of Recycling Technoloy Ltd's core technology and team as the Technical Director and played an instrumental role in the delivery of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation plants. He also led the deployment of RT’s Monomer Recycling technology in collaboration with INEOS Styrolution. Marvine joined RT in 2015. He has an MSc degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham and a General Management Certificate from the University of Cambridge.
SIMON ASHBY-RUDD Chair Simon has extensive experience in the energy sector with over 30 years in energy investment banking roles at both large institutions including Dresden Kleinwort Benson, Citigroup and more recently Standard Bank, and specialist boutique energy advisory firms such as Tristone Capital and Waterous & Co. During his career, Simon gained significant global experience and built an extensive network across the industry advising energy companies on corporate strategy and capital structuring, first in Europe then in the Far East and then in North America before finally focusing on Africa for the final ten years. Today Simon provides independent advice to growth orientated energy companies either directly as a NED or as an independent consultant. Simon is a graduate of University College London holding a B.Sc in economics.
DR ILIAN ILIEV Investment Director Ilian is the CEO of EMV Capital Plc, an investment and commercialisation group with an international portfolio of innovative life science, sustainability and technology companies. Ilian co-founded and was CEO of CambridgeIP Ltd (2006-2012), which he built into a leading market and technology business intelligence provider in the UK. He holds a PhD from Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, focused on Venture Capital business models in emerging economies. He has published widely on issues in the energy, healthcare, innovation finance and entrepreneurship.
JOHN CLARKSON Strategy Director (NED) John is an experienced business professional and qualified accountant. He was the Chair of Recycling Technologies Ltd between 2013 & 2017and involved in the previous development work with ACE UK. John recently stepped down from his position as Executive Chair of NetScientific Plc to concentrate on a few selected companies, in particular DeepTech Recycling. John was partner in charge of the developing services consultancy division in Coopers Deloitte (now PWC). He left the firm to develop a new business in North America, then took on the role of vice chairman of Laura Ashley Inc has been involved in growing a broad range of SMEs. John holds an MBA from Cranfield University
STEPHEN CROWE Interim CFO Stephen is the CFO of EMV Capital Plc. He is a commercial, growth-focused and highly experienced Finance Leader with over 20+ years of experience in a wide range of financial institutions from blue chip organizations such as AXA to owner managed SME’s such as THB Group, R K Carvill & Co. and Towergate Partnership. Most recently he has undertaken several interim roles within financial services for a number of high growth tech enabled SME’s. Before this he worked at Source for 6 years, a European ETP provider (Investment Manager) which was sold to Invesco in 2017. Stephen is qualified chartered accountant by profession with a degree from Auckland University (NZ).
